SWIMMING POOL
The Village of Minster provides the surrounding community with a heated, outdoor aquatic recreation center on approximately 3.540 acres located at the northern edge of the Village. The 5,351 square feet, Z-shaped swimming pool is separated into a diving section, swimming/laps section and a shallow area for smaller children. The diving area with its low and high diving boards is 12 feet deep at the deepest center of the section. The general swimming area has depths of 3.5 feet to 8 feet. The main swimming pool is lined with a specially formulated PVC shell to maintain the structural integrity of the pool for many years to come.
In addition to the swimming area, a 900 square foot, square shaped spray area is available to the smaller swimmers. This area is enclosed by a 4-foot high fence for the children's safety. For more detailed information on our municipal pool, click here.
MIAMI-ERIE CANAL PATH
The Ohio Trails Act formed this 40 mile hiking section of the Miami and Erie Canal Towpath Hiking Trails. Various forms of Ohio canal history such as canal locks, aqueducts, and a canal boat add to this section of the Ohio Buckeye Hiking Trails, which parallels State Route 66 from Delphos, Ohio to Fort Loramie. The "Ohio Byway" road signs reference this area as having Miami and Erie Canal attractions.
The three mile bicycle trail is a crushed stone path from the downtown Historical Park in New Bremen, Ohio to the north edge of Minster, Ohio which runs along the west side of the Miami and Erie Canal. A widened asphalt sidewalk allows access on the side of the roadway extending the trail over a pedestrian bridge to Seventh Street Park in Minster. The Park roadway and the paved alley to the south continue along the east side of the canal.
