Police Department

The Minster Police Department is committed to proactive, community-focused policing built on trust, visibility, and professionalism.

The Minster Police Department provides professional, full-time law enforcement services with a strong emphasis on safety, community partnership, and proactive policing. Our department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is staffed by a dedicated team of eight full-time officers, including a Chief, Sergeant, and six patrol officers, with additional part-time support when needed. The department is also supported by an administrative assistant who helps ensure efficient daily operations.

Our officers are highly trained and committed to delivering a high level of service to the community. Through ongoing and advanced training in a variety of investigative areas, the department is equipped to handle most cases in-house with confidence and professionalism. An officer from our department is also assigned to the Grand Lake Task Force, strengthening regional collaboration and coordination.

Community policing is at the core of our mission. Our officers are actively engaged throughout the village, building relationships and working proactively to prevent crime. This includes school presentations, youth safety education, ALICE training for schools and businesses, and safety presentations focused on seatbelt use and distracted driving. We take pride in being part of local traditions and events such as Oktoberfest, athletic event security, and community programs like trick-or-treat.

In addition to enforcement, the department provides a variety of community services, including business checks, unoccupied home checks, golf cart inspections, and vehicle unlock assistance for residents. Our bike patrol enhances our visibility and accessibility, particularly during community events and in high-traffic areas.

We maintain strong working relationships with surrounding law enforcement, fire, and EMS agencies, ensuring a coordinated and effective response to emergencies. The department operates out of a modern, well-equipped facility and utilizes up-to-date technology to remain connected, responsive, and prepared at all times. Through services like CivicReady, residents can receive important alerts, emergency notifications, and community updates via phone, text message, and email.

The Minster Police Department is committed to being accessible, approachable, and accountable to the community we serve. We emphasize professionalism, continuous improvement, and a positive working environment so our officers are prepared, supported, and proud to serve the Village of Minster.
