Energy Storage Grand Opening

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on site at the Minster Solar and Energy Storage Facility on May 6th. The Village was joined by representatives of Half Moon Ventures, S & C Electric and Concord New Energy Group.  The Village of Minster is the first public power community in the United States to combine both energy storage and solar. The official launch of this system assures that the Village can continue to provide affordable, reliable and sustainable electricity for the residents and businesses in Minster.  The 4.2 MW solar facility and the 7 MW lithium ion battery energy storage system will allow the Village to purchase below market power from the solar field, defer approximately $350,000.00 of transmission and distribution costs, improve power quality and shave peak demand.
