Recreational Activities
The community is known for the annual Minster Oktoberfest, held during the first weekend that contains a date in October. The Oktoberfest, which draws over 80,000 people to the Village, emphasizes the community's rich German heritage. The people of Minster feel that the Oktoberfest is not just an event; It's a feeling, a spirit, a happy mood that conveys the warmth and friendliness of the community.
This gala, fun filled festival provides delights for all. Sing and dance to German music. Taste the hearty German foods. Watch the spectacular parade featuring colorful floats, marching bands, and many celebrities. See the many events in the Gazebo and the Spazz Plaz. Take part in the beer tray relay, the 10K run, and any numerous other games. Visit the large arts and crafts area.

Minster is also home to the annual Bock and Rock, a charitable event sponsored by the Minster Civic Association. During the event attendees may responsibly sample some of the world's finest craft beers. This event has become an exceptional beer tasting experience.
In addition, outdoor activities abound in the Minster area. Within the Village itself, there are a number of parks, with baseball, swimming, softball, basketball, tennis and general outdoor facilities available. The Minster Parks and Recreation Department also hosts a multitude of different social, cultural and recreational opportunities throughout the year.
Residents of the Minster Local School District enjoy a modern exercise and body building nautilus center. Located just two miles north of the Village is a branch of the Mercer/Auglaize YMCA which provides numerous recreational activities. Lake Loramie State Park is only a short bike ride away and has Class I camping facilities available. Young and old alike enjoy fishing, camping, boating and picnicking from early spring to late fall. Ice fishing, ice skating, curling, and cross country skiing are the wintertime activities at the State Park. Arrowhead Golf Course, an excellent 18 hole golf course is located just south of the corporation limit. Also located in the community is an 18 alley bowling center.
Grand Lake St. Mary's, the largest man-made lake in Ohio, is approximately 15 minutes north of Minster. All water sports and activities, including, boating, skiing, sailing and swimming are available at this lake. There are several boating marinas available for the boating enthusiast. Valley High Ski Resort is only 45 minutes away.
Shopping
Shopping in Minster is a pleasant experience. There is always free parking downtown or at the Eagle Acres shopping center located on the north edge of the village. A wide variety of shops prosper ion Minster today, testimony that the community has a viable business atmosphere. Enclosed shopping malls are located within a short distance.
Religious Diversity

The Minster community was built on a strong religious foundation. That foundation is evident as you approach Minster and notice the twin towers rising from St. Augustine Catholic Church. St. Augustine was the earliest Catholic Church in this area and served as the "mother" church for a number of surrounding communities.
Calvary Chapel Baptist Church, also located within the Village offers religious diversity to this area. Churches of various denominations are also located in the Minster area.
