Public Hearing Notice
The Village of Minster Council, at its scheduled meeting on Tuesday April 3, 2012, starting at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers (located at 5 West Fourth Street, Minster, Ohio) will hold a public hearing to consider an alley vacation request by Precision Strip Inc. On February 7, 2012, Precision Strip Inc. filed a petition to vacate a portion of North Street from its intersection with Fourth Street to approximately .340 feet south.
Anyone wishing to present written testimony on this proposed action may do so in writing prior to, or at the public hearing. Oral testimony may also be presented at the public hearing. The Village Council may continue the public hearing to another meeting to obtain additional information, or close the public hearing and take action on the request.
All documents in the above-noted file are available for inspection at no cost or copies can be obtained for a minimal charge per page. For further information, please contact Don Harrod, Village Administrator.

Zoning Board of Appeals Public Hearing
The Minster Board of Zoning Appeals will conduct a public hearing on February 14, 2012 in the Village of Minster Council Chambers located at 5 West Fourth Street, Minster, Ohio at 7:00 p.m. The purpose of the public meeting is to consider the following:
- A home occupation conditional use permit request by Brett Steinke to utilize the residence located at 76 South Jefferson Street to operate an internet based firearms dealership from the residence. A home occupation conditional use permit is needed to allow these activities within a home in a residential district.
Copies of the requests and plans are available for review at the Village of Minster Administrative Offices.
Any person wishing to comment on the proposed requests may attend the meting or call the Zoning Administrator or a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals.

Ohio EPA Seeks Public Comment
An Ohio EPA draft report addresses impairments at sites in the upper Great Miami River watershed. An earlier report found 64 percent of the watershed fully meets water quality standards necessary to sustain a healthy ecosystem of fish and other aquatic life, but 72 percent of sites tested have bacteria levels which do not meet recreation use goals. The
Agency is seeking public comments about the report before a final document is submitted to U.S. EPA.
Using an earlier scientific report as a guide, Ohio EPA will work with local stakeholders to further develop water quality improvement strategies. A fact sheet about the report is available on the web. Download the full public notice here.

2010 Minster Drinking Water Quality Report Available
The Village of Minster has completed its 2010 Water Quality Report as mandated by the Environmental Protection Agency. A copy of this report will be mailed to each residential household of the community, as well as businesses and industrial consumers with the June 2011 utility bill. If you do not receive your copy of this report, and would like one, copies are available at the Village Administrative Offices, 5 W. Fourth Street, Minster, Ohio, or by calling 419-628-3497. The report is also available online at here.
