Artistry Under The Dome, 2017
The fifth annual Art Fair will be held at St. Charles Senior Living Community,
2860 U.S. Route 127, Carthagena, in both the Gaspar Room and in the Auditorium.
It is:  Friday, March 31,   7:00-9:00 p.m.  and Sat., & Sun. April  1  &  2, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
This fine art show will include a variety of media, such as:  pottery, paintings, decorative clay, functional clay, woodwork, glass blown art, photography, jewelry, etc.  It will feature 33 artists from Mercer and Auglaize Counties, or artists who have strong roots from these two counties. The various artists who will be included in the show this year are:  Julie Baltes,  Tony Beckman,  Toni Beener,  Virgil and Jane Bertke,  Mary Boettger,  Todd Buschur, Brad Cull,  Amy Deal,  Jane Dippold,  Laura Dirksen, Jason Dues, Doug Fiely, Anna Fisher, Collette Fortin & Berry Davis,  Willard  Froelich,
Debby Gregory, Rhonda Hager, Ben Heyne, Tim Hill, Weston Hirschfeld,  James Kemmler,
Mark Ledford, Terry Lukac, Ken Maggi,  Joan Muhlenkamp,  Mary Novin,  Marilyn Stull, Lisa Sullivan, Amber Temple, Hannah Thees,  Patrick & Diane Timmerman,  Nick Wenning, Shirley Wenning
Ten of the artists are new to the show from last year, which continues to keep the event very interesting.   Those artists who are returning from last year are busy making new creations for your enjoyment.  Each artist will have an eight foot display booth.  Some of the artists will have their items for sale, while others choose not to sell their products.  Also seven high school Art Departments will have some work of their art students on display.  High Schools who plan to participate are:  St. Marys, Marion, Minster, St. Henry, Ft. Recovery, Coldwater, and Celina.
During the Art Fair, four different artists will do demonstrations in the Auditorium:  Saturday morning, 11:00 am to 12:00 pm,  Debby Gregory, from St. Marys and creates lovely pieces of art with acrylics, oils, watercolors;
Saturday afternoon, 2:00-3:00 pm,  Cera Marie, originally from Maria Stein with her studio in Columbus, does professional outdoor and public art, produces large-scale paintings,  wall hangings and murals;
Sunday morning, 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, Tony Beckman, from Minster, a resourceful wood carver generating  fine products of various styles;  and
Sunday afternoon,  2:00-3:00 pm, Rhonda Hager, from Spencerville, incorporates nature and scenery in her eye-catching pieces of drawings and paintings.
Serving on the Planning Committee for this event are the following:  Sister Martha Bertke, a Sister of the Precious Blood, who initiated the Art Fair five years ago;  Nick & Charlene Wenning, Nick creates beautiful decorative and functional clay items; Jane Dippold, known for her paint and paper collages, illustrator of children’s books, etc.; Ralph Stuckman, who taught Art at Wright State Lake Campus for  19 years and is the organizer of LAAG – Lake Area Arts Group;  Julie Baltes who uses various media, such as, drawing, painting, photography;  and  Teresa DiSalvo, manager of St. Charles Senior Living Community.
