The first school in Minster, for boys only, opened in 1833. Since that time Minster's schools have expanded to offer excellent educational opportunities for residents from pre-school through the secondary grades. The Minster Local School System presently has an enrollment of over 1200 students. The average classroom size is approximately 25-30 students with a pupil/teacher ratio of 17/1. The high school curriculum offers a wide range of electives and comprehensive courses of study in both college preparatory and vocational programs. It also offers an extensive extra-curricular program. The school has had 75 years of continuous accreditation with the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The facilities and educational equipment are among the finest in the state of Ohio. Check the district's Ohio Department of Education Annual Report Card.
The excellence of the Minster Local School System is further evidenced by the fact that approximately 88 percent of the graduates go on to further their education. Minster students also consistently score high in competitive State and National examinations. Their successes can be attributed to an excellent, experienced faculty, strong community support for the educational program, and the students' desire to excel.
